Files should be useful, not intimidating.
Filelume is a browser-based utility that turns technical text files into clear, human-readable views. It helps developers, students, analysts, writers, support teams, and everyday users understand structured files without installing a desktop application or uploading the document to a conversion server.
Our mission
Our mission is to make useful file formats easier to understand while respecting the privacy of the people who open them.
Markdown becomes a polished document. JSON, XML, YAML, and TOML become structured trees or tables when appropriate. CSV files become searchable data grids. Log files become filterable event streams.
Local-first by design
Supported files are processed in the browser. Filelume has no account system, no document database, and no upload API — not as a setting, but as a fact about what was built.
Document content must not be included in analytics, advertising, or error reports.
What Filelume supports
- Markdown reading, with a print stylesheet for making a PDF
- JSON tree, table, CSV and Excel export
- XML tree, table, CSV and Excel export
- YAML and TOML viewing with tabular export
- CSV editing, filtering and export
- Log filtering and export
- Excel workbooks and Word documents, read locally
- SVG inspection with PNG export
Every one of these is free. There is no paid tier, no account, and nothing held back.
Honest views over forced conversion
Not every file is a spreadsheet. Filelume enables Table view only when a meaningful record structure exists.
Built in Jakarta
