Effective date: 20 August 2026
1. Introduction
This policy explains how Filelume.biz handles information when the website and browser-based file tools are used.
Filelume.biz is free to use and has no accounts, no sign-in, and no payments. There is no database of users, because there are no users to record.

2. Files opened in Filelume
When Filelume works as designed:
- Files are processed in the browser.
- Files are not intentionally uploaded to a Filelume server.
- File content is not stored in any Filelume database.
- File content is not included in analytics or advertising events.
- File content is cleared when replaced, cleared, the page is refreshed, or the session ends.
3. Remote content
Markdown remote images must not load automatically. When explicitly enabled, the browser may contact the remote host.
4. Technical information
Hosting, security, consent, or advertising services may process limited technical information such as browser type, device type, page visited, approximate region, and consent status.
They must not receive document content, file names, parsed values, source keys, or log lines.
5. No accounts, no payments
Filelume.biz does not offer, and cannot create, an account. It follows that:
- No email address, password, or identifier is collected or stored.
- No payment is taken and no payment provider is involved, so no order, card, or transaction record exists.
- No subscription, entitlement, or plan is recorded, because there is only one tier and it is free for everyone.
- No cloud storage integration is offered, so no third-party file references or tokens are held.
If a future version of this site adds any of the above, this section must be replaced before that version ships — not after.
6. Settings you choose
Preferences such as theme, density, viewer defaults, and your answer to the consent notice are stored in your own browser's local storage. They are never transmitted, so they do not follow you to another browser or device, and clearing site data removes them.
Opened or pasted documents must not be stored locally.
7. Advertising
Filelume displays advertising, and that advertising is what pays for the site. Advertising providers must not receive document-derived information of any kind.
Declining in the consent notice stops ad units from rendering on this site.
Before production launch, replace generic statements here with disclosures for the providers actually used.
8. Analytics and diagnostics
Allowed events include coarse feature and error information only. Raw documents and document-derived values are prohibited.
9. Use of limited information
Limited technical information may be used to operate, secure, measure, and improve the website and respond to messages.
10. Providers
List only services actually enabled in production.
11. Retention
Filelume does not intentionally retain opened document content, and holds no account data to retain. Actual technical-log and consent retention must match provider configuration.
Where a specific retention period has not been approved, information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the stated purpose, legal obligations, security, and dispute handling.
12. Choices
You may manage consent and clear browser preferences at any time through your browser's site-data controls. Because nothing is stored on our side, there is no deletion request to make.
13. Children
Filelume is a general utility and requires no account or personal information to use.
14. Security
Filelume uses reasonable measures intended to keep document processing local. No browser environment can be guaranteed completely secure.
15. Changes
An updated effective date is shown when this policy changes.
